With reference to my telegram No.155 of 6th May relative to the Seamen's strike at Hong Kong and with troubles connected therewith, I have the honour to transmit herewith a copy of a despatch from His Majesty's Consul-General at Canton enclosing a copy of correspondence with the Acting Civil Governor of Kuangtung on the subject of the incident at Fatien where certain of the strikers were shot by the Hongkong police in an attempt to force their way across the frontier into Chinese territory.
